Plate flanges suit large water, gas and air lines where the standard allows them. Forged flanges to ASME B16.5 and B16.47 are made by Teshi Fittings.

Material and cutting
Plate is checked against mill certificates, then cut with heat numbers transferred to each part.
Rolling, fit-up and welding
Parts are rolled, fitted and welded to qualified procedures by qualified welders.
Testing and dispatch
NDT, any PWHT and dimensional checks are completed, then the job ships with its dossier.

Procedures and welders qualified to ASME Section IX. WPS and PQR submitted for approval with the QAP.

A figure-8 plate with one solid and one open end, fitted between flanges. Turning it isolates or opens the line. ASME B16.48 covers standard sizes; larger ones are made to drawing.
