Rolled pipe, mitre bends and reducers

Plate-rolled pipe and fittings for sizes beyond standard pipe and wrought fittings.

About rolled pipe and mitre bends

When the line size goes beyond wrought fittings, bends and reducers are made from plate. Mitre bends are built from cut segments; the number of cuts follows your drawing or piping specification.

How a fabrication job runs

  1. Drawing and QAP review

We check your GA drawings, QAP and specification, and raise queries before material is ordered.

  2. Material and cutting

Plate is checked against mill certificates, then cut with heat numbers transferred to each part.

  3. Rolling, fit-up and welding

Parts are rolled, fitted and welded to qualified procedures by qualified welders.

  4. Testing and dispatch

NDT, any PWHT and dimensional checks are completed, then the job ships with its dossier.

Welding, NDT and documents

Welding

Procedures and welders qualified to ASME Section IX. WPS and PQR submitted for approval with the QAP.

NDT

  • Radiography and ultrasonic testing
  • Dye penetrant and magnetic particle testing
  • Extent as per your QAP and design code

Heat treatment

Post-weld heat treatment where the code or specification requires it, with recorded charts.

Dossier

Material certificates, weld maps, NDT reports, dimensional reports and test records, compiled per item.

FAQ

Questions buyers ask

How many cuts should a mitre bend have?

It depends on the code, pressure and flow. Many low-pressure steel plant lines use 3-cut or 4-cut 90° mitres. Follow the number on your drawing or specification.
